Detoxification is a type of alternative treatment which aims to rid the body of unspecified “toxins” – accumulated substances that proponents claim have undesirable short-term or long-term effects on individual health.

Sure, detoxifying your system implies that it isn’t 100%. So stay with me for a moment to see how my Life Detox works best for your physical, mental, emotional and, yes, spiritual wellbeing.

Purification, on the other hand, is considered the process of rendering something pure, i.e. clean of foreign elements and/or pollution, according to the fabulous world of internet.

Take air or water purifiers, for instance. They remove contaminants from air and water, respectively, right?

To ‘purify’ means to free from undesirable elements.

When we walk through the fires of life, it is vital to refuse to allow our circumstances or external factors to contaminate our internal world as are in air, water, food and/or our bodies.

You bet it can be tempting to dwell on the negative things that have happened to us, to wallow in our hurt and disappointment. Like hello, who expects you to just forgive immediately after being offended, let alone not get offended at all, right?

However, did you that unmet expectations are the greatest culprits of offenses in any kind of relationships? I’m sure you’ve heard the joke that ‘before marriage, opposites attract, after marriage opposites attack!’😂

Being in a close relationship is not so much about how quick you can get offended but how quick you can DROP the offense/hurt/pain done to you – not suppress or pretend the offense didn’t happen! Because the enemy would rather have you stay mad, seething with all shades of red each time you’re offended. Duh, what else would He have you do! Even scripture says he’s come to steal, kill and destroy. But steal, kill and destroy what, you ask? That’s a revelation you must seek from God’s word and through your spirit man.
See, release is setting free a prisoner to find that you were the prisoner all along! Unsettled resentment leads to regret. So drop it like it’s hot (don’t you get religious with me, Snoop Dogg is cool)!

What I’m trying to say is, offense is an event. Offended is a decision.

Therefore, for as long as we’re still breathing, we cannot be held back by the hurt, we have to detox/purify/cleanse our minds, thoughts, hearts, words, bodies and actions. Easier said than done, I know. So how do we actually accomplish this?

First, we recognize we are not fighting a battle of flesh and blood (alone). It is impossible to use natural weapons to fight spiritual things, if the aim is to have a healthy spiritual life – duh. Therefore, we must use the tools found in the Word of God to defeat the enemy that comes against us.

This enemy might not always be some red-horned bogeyman, but self-defeating behaviour and/or fatalistic mindset that can have long-term effects on our overall wellbeing.

I say this because the best of us like to accredit every offense to the devil escape taking responsibility for our actions or the decisions we make, which might sometimes be contrary to what’s expected of us (or those against God’s will, if you like).

Tell me, is there a better time to buckle the belt of truth around your waist than when you’re in the midst of hurt, for instance? When in pain, it is helpful to take some time to sit down, examine scripture, journal what you know to be true about God, and contemplate what you know to be true about yourself. You might be surprised at the amount of clarity you unravel when you’re searching God’s heart for that truth, hey.

Second, we have to learn to take every thought captive and examine it to see whether it is from God or not. How? Purify your mind by “bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of God”.

Ask yourself: ‘Is this a thought that lines up with God’s Word? Is this something I should allow myself to think? If I continue to think about this, will it have a positive or negative result?’

Try by living according to the following standard of living by always examining our thoughts to sieve what to allow in and what to keep our of our minds: Fix your thoughgs on what’s true and pure, and lovely, and admirable, excellent and worthy of praise.”

Any thought that doesn’t meet this criteria has to be removed quickly and replaced with one that does.

The detoxification and purification processes take effort and consistency; they involve discipline and dependence, not so much on ourselves but on God’s guidance.

A huge step in healing will involve the purification of our minds, thoughts, hearts, words, and actions, because we’re well aware the relationship between what we think, what we do and what we say.

Purification/detoxification isn’t a once-off event, it is a process that continues to grow your confidence and provide you with inner peace that surpasses all understanding. Something awesome happens to one’s wellbeing when you know you’re detoxing from the inside out.

Try it.

P/S: Besides this, there are 30 detox foods you really must try (in there link up there). I have recently developed a love for Korean cuisine (which I’ll share in a later article) because most of it is super healthy and great detoxifying meals.
