One of the many lessons I have learned over the years is to let go of the need to always complain about the things I don’t like, the people that act in a way that I find unpleasant; to let go of the need to complain about past events and current situations. I have learned that my mind can play tricks on me and that my mind can make me think thoughts that are negative and destructive, and I have learned not to believe everything I think.

I have learned to step away from the things that make me unhappy, from the things I don’t like, towards those things I do like. And by doing so, I started attracting a lot of good things, people and events into my life. Just by learning to shift my attention from the negative, from what I don’t like and from what I do not want towards the positive, towards what I love and what I do want, I learned more about the key to happiness, and I have learned more about how to achieve happiness.

Thoughts have power, great power, creative power, and if you manage to train your mind to work for you and not against you, you will find happiness. I think it’s very important for us to understand that, just like the amazing James Allen said it: as you think, you travel, and as you love, you attract. You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you.”

And as a final thought, I want to share with you this beautiful poem I found on the Internet as I am sure you will enjoy reading it as much as I did.

“Tell me your woes and I’ll tell you mine,

Be sure to make coffee, for this will take time,

I am here for you and you for me

When we are done , we are sure to be free.

Complain about all, your doubts, fears, and pain.

If need be, repeat your complaints again

I think when your done, and I begin mine,

You may realize that actually, you are quite fine.

Remember this, dear complainer, that I lent you an ear

When you return home, leave your complaints here.

Your family will appreciate, the time that I took

To write your complaints in a very big book.
